Steps to getting off the grid
Modern day energy conservation is imperative. Everyday we read warnings in the news of our rapid consumption of non-renewable resources and the constantly increasing demand on our power supply.
So, what can we do? For starters, how about living off the grid? If I have startled you with that proposition, let me tell you that living off the grid not only helps the environment and helps save power; it also cuts down or eliminates your electricity bill. Now, those are tangible benefits that will make you feel good about your role on this earth as well as the savings to the family budget.
Advantages of living off the grid:
• Reduced dependence on non-renewable resources: Aren’t you tired of depending on public utilities? Living off the grid homes don’t have to depend on outside sources of power, you rely only on your resources and not the ones supplied by governments or corporations. It can be very frustrating when a power outage happens during a special event or when you’re in the middle of important work. Wouldn’t you like to take charge of such factors affecting you life? With energy efficiency and conservation strategy, you can.
• Freedom of usage of naturally available resources: Wouldn’t it be great to not have to pay for the electricity you and your family use? Wouldn’t it be delightful to use as much power as you want without worrying about the electric meter? Nature provides all the energy you need to power your entire home, from your lights, TV and computer to your air conditioning and furnace. Harnessing solar energy and/or make your own wind powered electricity can be the answer you’ve been looking for.
• Reduced energy costs, saving $100’s a month: Wouldn’t it be terrific is you stopped receiving an electric bill every month? When you build home solar power systems it gives you a return on your investment very soon, thus making the power supply to your home eventually free! How would it feel to watch your meter run backwards and sell your extra power back to the electric company, which by law they have to buy?
Eliminate your usage of non-renewable energy and help give the future generations a greener, healthier place.
